As stated by the Department of Water Affairs, " To date, in access of 80 people from the local communities have received employment in the programme on a continuous basis with comprehensive development and training plans in place to provide much needed capacity building and skills transfer in many aspects, including ABET (Adult Basic Education and Training). This, together with the programmes' support to local business, has resulted in an increase in the local economic development of the greater Haartbeespoort area".
