With regard to the second part of the question, the mandate of the DTI, particularly in relation to trade, investment and export promotion, requires extensive international interaction. In this regard, all travel was in connection with official business and executed in accordance with the departmental travel and transport policy and the guidelines in the ministerial handbook. Whether she and/or any members of her department have entered into discussions with authorities of African countries and/or the African Union to secure agreements to deregulate the operations of African airlines in the air space of African countries; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
