In 2008, the area was affected by a natural disaster, and 13 houses were subsequently destroyed. Members of the community whose houses were destroyed claimed that they did not receive any assistance in this regard. They suggested that Glentana, a place of residence for white people which was also affected by the same disaster, was rebuilt in the same year. Community members claimed that while land was available for private sale, it was not the case for public developments.
