From the automotive terminal the Transnet team took the committee around the harbour to further familiarise it with Transnet's operations. Very close to the harbour was the wharf road. Transnet indicated that one of the challenges of that road was traffic congestion as it accommodated not only cars destined for the harbour but also those passing through. According to Transnet, the road needed to be maintained but Transnet could not do that because the road belonged to the City of Durban.
