I am happy to announce that the National Treasury has made R800 million available over the next two financial years. This is for the Green Fund, which represents a critical resource mechanism to achieve a just transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient, job-creating economy in South Africa, as envisaged by our Growth Path, climate change policy and National Sustainable Development Policy. We have finalised processes with the National Treasury, and during this financial year we will roll out the implementation of the Green Fund. We have appointed the Development Bank of Southern Africa as an implementing agent for the Green Fund, managed by a multi-stakeholder management committee chaired by our department under the able leadership of our director-general.
