We are aware that unlocking the substantial economic benefits of biodiversity is going to require a sizeable cohort of skilled South Africans. For this reason, we have mandated Sanbi to pioneer a national capacity development programme for the entire biodiversity sector. Sanbi's application to the Jobs Fund, titled "Catalysing Access to Employment and Job Creation in Ecosystem Management", was approved by the Development Bank of Southern Africa to the tune of R300 million.
