1. The Department received a qualified audit outcome for 2010/11 as for previous years. Notably, the Department cleared the prior years' audit qualifications relating to Human Resource Management, Assets and Irregular Expenditure: the remaining qualification relates to Third Party Funds (TPF). The Auditor-General reports that the qualification matter of the Third Party Funds is mainly due to inadequacy of the systems to ensure proper controls and financial reporting. The JDAS system in place for reporting on transactions in the TPF environment is inadequate to prove reliable information for ensuring accuracy of financial reporting. The TPF audit for 2011/12 has not been conducted as the financial statements for that year have not yet been submitted.
