Speaker, the ANC voices concern and alarm that the DA has spent only a third of its public works infrastructure budget and met only half of its own targets to build houses and resurface roads in the Western Cape. This was contained in the report by the provincial treasury. Equally alarming is the fact that the DA, in this province, has not spent R9 million of the grant money meant to improve the performance of pupils in maths, physical science, life science and English, and nearly R10 million meant for the recapitalisation of technical secondary schools by the end of last year.
The DA is very quick to attack national government departments when they underspend but when it is their responsibility they keep quiet. Also bear in mind that they only run one province in the entire country. [Interjections.] This shows them for the hypocrites that they are. [Interjections.]
