4. The SIU's past difficulties relating to its funding have been resolved. However, even before these challenges emerged, the SIU had alerted the Committee to the risk of relying too much on funding from service level agreements. It has also meant that the SIU has not been able to grow its own internal capacity in the way it would have liked. The Committee, therefore, agrees that there does need to be further debate on the appropriate funding model for an anti- corruption agency such as the SIU.
