Speaker, the Minister of Energy understands that our energy generation and supply in the country needs to be supplemented. The Independent System and Market Operator Bill will expand energy provision to other market operators to ensure that our country does not rely entirely on Eskom's ageing infrastructure.
However, the Minister should look at another possible solution. We had a question to the Minister yesterday which relates to energy generation from waste disposal. We, as Cope, would like to know if the ANC Youth League will be part of this Energy-from-Waste plan, since the recent events in Cape Town illustrated their extraordinary ability to burn their energy on the spilling of human waste on the steps in front of the Western Cape provincial legislature and in Khayelitsha on Wednesday.
Will any of the Ministers present here, those who serve in the ANC national leadership, be willing to repudiate these despicable acts and distance themselves publicly from any similar undemocratic, barbaric conduct of the ANC Youth League?
