INTERNAL QUESTION PAPER NO 21 of 2011
Mr P D Mbhele (Cope) to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:
Whether her Department has deliberated on the criteria in terms of which
immigrants will be allowed to stay in South Africa and receive valid
permits; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
NW2295E
REPLY:
The Department of Home Affairs has a legal framework to regulate the stay
of immigrants in the Republic of South Africa, through various permits.
This is contained in the Immigration Act, 2002 (Act No 13 of 2002) and its
amendments.
