(1) Whether any individuals have been convicted for fraudulently accessing social grants in any of the provinces; if so, (a) how many in each province and (b) how many of these individuals were (i) government employees and (ii) civilians; (2) whether there are any mechanisms or systems that the SA Social Security Agency (Sassa) have implemented or intends implementing to achieve its priority of early detection and investigation measures against fraud and corruption; if not, why not; if so, (a) what are the relevant details and (b) how are they going to link up with other government department systems in cases where government employees are involved; (3) whether there are any mechanisms or measures in place to eliminate illegal access to, and abuse of social grants, especially by foreigners, at pay-points on the border with neighbouring countries; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details; (4) whether any strategic intervention is in place to address the issue of money lenders and their illegal possession of beneficiaries’ identity documents; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
