1558.  Mr N D du Toit (DA) to ask the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry
and Fisheries:
(1) How many commercial fishing rights have been allocated (a) in total and
(b) in the Western Cape;
(2) whether she intends delegating any regulatory authority with regard to
fisheries to the Western Cape provincial department of environmental
affairs and development planning as provided for in sections 78 and 79 of
the Marine Living Resources Act, Act 18 of 1998; if not, why not; if so,
(a) what functions are to be transferred and (b) what are the further
relevant details;
(3) whether this transfer of functions will be accompanied by a transfer of
budget allocation; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

(approximately 2336) in the Western Cape.
