1(a) The building plans for the Cederberg Fish Processing Plant were approved by the local municipality’s building section on the 8 July 2014 and its Council on the 28 of July 201.
1(b) All Western Cape Provincial Government approvals were obtained on the 1 October 2014
2(a) The final Business Plan for the Cederberg Fishing Infrastructure Development and Management Working for Fisheries Project (WFFP) was approved by DAFF’s Fisheries Deputy Director-General on 7 October 2014.
2(b) The building of the Fish Processing Plant started in December 2014.
2(c) The Cederberg Municipality is the Project Implementer and appoints service providers as required.
2(d) The budget for the Elands Bay Project is R 29 million Rand over a three year period.
2(e) R20 million rand has been spent thus far.
2(f) The money has been spent on various items: Phase 1 (Planning); Implementers Fees, Training of Beneficiaries; Project Administration; Material and Equipment; Transport; Wages paid in terms of the Social Public Works Programme (SPWP); None SPWP Salaries; Marketing and Community Facilitation
2(g) The Fish Processing Plant is 80%complete.
2(h) It is envisaged that the construction of the Fish Processing Plant will be completed by the end of September 2016.
