Thank you Deputy Speaker. Local and indigenous knowledge refers to the understanding, skills and philosophies developed by individuals in societies with long histories of interaction with their natural surroundings. For indigenous people' local knowledge informs decision making about fundamental aspects of their day to day life. This is exactly what this bill is trying to do. For a first attempt and it is a milestone.
I want to thank all the political parties that are supporting that and I hope that this bill in future can maybe prove the EFF wrong and that they will come back later and say, it was a good bill in the end.
