Deputy Speaker, I move without notice:
That the House -
1) notes with great enthusiasm the winning of world boxing titles by the following deserving champions:
a) Zolani Tete who won the International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-flyweight title in Japan; b) Lwandile Sityatha who won the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) super-flyweight title; c) Lusanda Komanisi who won the vacant IBO featherweight title in East London; and d) Luyanda Nkwankwa who won the vacant World Boxing Foundation minimum weight title to the tally, on Mandela Day, July 18;
2) further notes that the four belts that South African boxers won in July 2014, pushed the number of world titles that South Africans have held to 130;
3) recalls that their achievements brought the number of South African world champions to 74;
4) further recalls that 18 South Africans have won at least two belts from the four leading organisations;
5) believes that their successes will serve as an inspiration to the youth of South Africa; and
6) congratulates them for the sterling achievements, as well as for flying the South African flag high in the international arena.
Agreed to.
