2) confirms that it has no doubt that Professor Ndebele will lead the Mandela Rhodes Foundation with distinction;
3) acknowledges that 10 years at work this year, the Mandela Rhodes Foundation has been at the forefront of nurturing young leaders in Africa by providing hundreds of talented individuals with the opportunity to gain a higher degree;
4) further acknowledges that Professor Ndebele inherits this admirable legacy from the Mandela Rhodes Foundation's founding chairperson, the late Professor Jakes Gerwel; 5) commends the Mandela Rhodes Foundation's chief executive officer, Shaun Johnson, in the fine choice of Professor Ndebele as chairperson, as it positions him to secure the trustee positions that will be occupied by the East African business personality, Dr Mo Ibrahim, and the Warden-Elect of Rhodes House, Mr Charles Conn; and
6) congratulates Professor Njabulo Ndebele on his appointment and wishes him all the best during his tenure as chairperson of the Mandela Rhodes Foundation.
