Hon Deputy Speaker, the President of the Republic, in his interactions with the Khoi and San leadership, committed to an inclusive process, which will then ensure that they participate in the transformation of our country. In that regard, during the state of the nation address this year, the President announced that government has decided to reopen land claims generally, but specifically he said that government has decided to explore exceptions to the 1913 cut-off date, to accommodate the descendants of the Khoi and San, heritage sites, and historical landmarks. So, in that context, I thank the hon member of the ANC for appreciating this step taken by government. It is a process which we hope will culminate in this House debating those exceptions to the cut-off date of 1913. Thank you, hon Deputy Speaker. [Applause.]
Deputy Speaker, I rise on a point of order: we want to thank you for having allowed the Ministers to respond. I just want to place on record that it was only the last two Ministers who kept to their time. We would appreciate it if you will also apply the rule of time rigidly as you do with members in the House. Thank you. [Interjections.]
