Chairperson, let me begin by saying that if I were the hon Kganare, coming from a party that takes itself to court so many times and cannot decide on anything, I would say very little about losing and learning how to lose. I would rather be silent on that matter. I think there are very few lessons we need to learn from the hon Kganare. [Applause.] [Interjections.]
On the matter of the murder of Mr Kazi - which, I understand, is now before the court - I think we all, as a House, share the regret expressed by the ANC with respect to this matter. We really encourage our nation to show regard for the social cohesion that the hon member referred to. We all need to really reflect the religious freedom that is part of our Constitution and respect for human dignity, which was apparently infringed on in this case.
We certainly express very deep condolences and, from this House, we want to send a message to the people of South Africa that we must exhibit tolerance at the highest levels possible and respect all who live in our country.
Finally, on the matter of the satellite programme, everything is being done by my department and by me to ensure that we preserve the skills necessary for executing such a programme. The hon member would be aware that an allocation for a satellite programme has been made in the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework - a fairly significant one. The first attention of that allocation is to the African Resource Management Constellation of satellites between the countries the hon member referred to. So, we do have a regard for what needs to be done.
On the matter of the company the hon member referred to, clearly I cannot refer to any detail at the moment since this is the subject of investigation by us. When we are ready to say more, we will certainly do so. [Applause.]
