Chairperson, I move without notice:
That the Council -
1) notes the shocking revelations revealed in a Human Rights Watch report about corruption in the South African health sector;
2) further notes the consequences of widespread corruption in society and the damage that is caused to South Africa's image globally;
3) recognises the urgent call to all South Africans, especially the poor, to stop paying bribes when dealing with public officials; and
4) acknowledges the need for government to educate the public about corruption as a criminal offence and also the rampant abuse of public office for private gain.
Order! Are there any objections to the motion? [Interjections.] There are objections. In the light of the objections, the motion may not be proceeded with. The motion without notice will now become a notice of a motion.
