Dear Select Committee on Land Reform, Environment, Mineral Resources and Energy,

Thank you for considering my comments with regards to exemption for solar power generation upto 100MW to have a licence.

The proposal is very progressive especial considering the opportunity for us to continue produce electricity without hussles of paying all application fees for IPPP etc.

Any regulation or codes to be developed should not be too stringent and cumbersome for SMME willing to participate in independent power production

It's a positive move. The window 6 which is due this month, only favours big companies and denies the previously disadvantage communities to participate in IPPP as we rely on international funders or investors only and one of the conditions is for us to get IPPP licence for them to fund us. With this, it meant we can compete to the advantage of eskom and the country at large.
