(1) According to the 2020 report in the status of SA Marine Fishery Resources, the commercial fish stocks of the Republic have increased since 2012, (a) on what date was the most recent scientific analysis of the commercial fish stocks of the Republic conducted, (b) which entity conducted the research and (c) which marine vessel was used to conduct the research; (2) how will her department use the analysis of fish stocks to inform the curtailment of fishing rights allocations, especially taking into consideration the economic challenges faced by the unsuccessful applicants of the Fishing Rights Allocation Process; (3) on what date will the next comprehensive analysis of fish stocks be conducted?

(1) With reference to her reply to question 2424 on 26 November 2021, wherein she stated that she \and her department, with support from the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Secretariat, had conducted a thorough investigation and had determined that the export referred to in the specified question were legal, and in light of the primarily commercial nature of the specified exports, as defined in the CITES Regulations and the CITES prohibition on export of Appendix I animal species for primary commercial purpose, (a) how has she found were the exports permissible under South African law and CITES regulations and (b) will she furnish Mr D W Bryant with relevant correspondence between her department and the CITES Secretariat;

Whether User Acceptance Testing was done on the online application system that was developed for ther Fishing Rights Allocation Process; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

(1) What steps is her department taking to combat the Shot Hole Borer beetle in the Republic ? (2) what (a) insecurities and (b) sprays are allowed to be legally applied to (i) plantations and (ii) domestic trees given that many current sprays are only licensed for certain plantation species and not for all trees; (3) (a) how long will it take to amend current legislation to allow sprays to be licensed for all trees and (b) what steps are taken to expedite the process?

Whether, in light of the fact that during November 2020, a survey was conducted by Lizette Moolman of SA National Parks to understand stakeholder expectations for a persistent elephant population in the Knysna forest and to collaboratively determined the desired management approach, (a) the results of the survey have been analysed and (b) a conclusion has been reached; if not, by what date is it envisaged that the analysis will be completed; if so, what are the further, relevant details?

With reference to the requirement to register breeding facilities, and noting the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna Resolution 12.5 (details furnished) that urge parties to ensure adequate management practices and controls to ensure tiger parts and derivatives do not enter the illegal trade, what (a) specified controls has her department implemented to ensure compliance with the resolution, (b) number of facilities have been audited in terms of the control and (c) were the results thereof?

With reference to section 2(b) of the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act (NEMBA), Act 10 of 2004, that one of the objectives of NEMBA is to give effect to ratified international agreements relating to biodiversity which are binding on the Republic, and noting that it is the responsibility of her department to ensure compliance with NEMBA, with specific reference to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna Resolution 12.1 (details furnished) that required the registration of all commercial breeding facilities for Appendix 1 species, what number of (a) tiger-breeding facilities (i) has her department been informed of and (ii) is registered with her department and (b) tiger are held at each facility that is (i) registered and (ii) mot registered with her department

with reference to her department’s press release of 25 February 2022, (a) how was the figure of 418 000 per persons employed by the biodiversity economy in 2019 arrived at and (b) what (i) is the breakdown of the figure in terms of the relevant economic categories and (ii) number of the persons were employed directly in the hunting sector?

With reference to the environment report by the City of Tswane about informal recycling activities being undertaken on land belonging to the national Government on the banks of the Hennops River in Clubview, Centurion(details furnished), what measures, will her department take to ensure that environment regulations are enforced in this matter

(1) what (a) has she found happened to the 3 000 tonnes of fish that died and (b) processes will be followed by her department to ensure that the specified ecological area is rehabilitated; (2) whether any other dams and/or ecological areas were affected by the effluent of acid water; if not, what is the position in this regard; if so, how will rivers be cleaned from the acid drained water; (3) how does her department intend to replace the 23 indigenous fish species that died during the incident ?
