About Vusumuzi Cyril Xaba

Mr Xaba was born in KwaZulu-Natal in 1967. Mr Xaba was in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature as a Member (1994-2009 and 2014-2019). He served in the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council (2014-2016)as MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development.

Mr Xaba studied law at the University of Natal in Durban and holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Mr Xaba has held leadership roles in organisations such as the Congress of South African Students (COSAS), Natal Students Congress, University of Natal Black Students Society, ANC Youth League, ANC Regional Executive Committee and ANC Provincial Executive Committee.

He currently serves as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans
