About Thokozile Xasa

Ms Xasa served as Minister of Sport and Recreation, having previously served as Minister of Tourism and Deputy Minister of Tourism before that. A teacher by profession, she has taught at several high schools. She holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Fort Hare, a BA degree from the University of Transkei and a BA Honours degree from the University of Fort Hare. She served as Provincial Treasurer of the African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape and was a Member of the Provincial Legislature in the Eastern Cape from 2001 until 2009. She served the provincial government as MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs and was once the Mayor of King Sabatha Dalindyebo District Municipality. Source: (info.gov.za)
