About Mmusi Aloysias Maimane

Mr Maimane graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand, University of South Africa and the University of Wales. While studying toward his Masters in Public Administration, he served as Class Co-ordinator at the University of the Witwatersrand. In 1989, Maimane encountered his first anti-apartheid action when strikes hit Dobsonville. Mr Maimane was selected as DA National Spokesperson in 2011, a position he held alongside his leadership role in the Johannesburg City Council. He is the current Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of South Africa since May 29, 2014. He became the leader of the DA on 10 May 2015. Source: wikipedia.org

Mr Maimane worked as a business consultant and trainer with a number of firms in South Africa and internationally. He also lectures at the GIBS Business Institute, University of Pretoria. In addition, he is a philanthropist and chairs a number of NGO boards. The foundations he is involved with are primarily focused on HIV/AIDS and rural and youth development.
