Mr Engelbrecht currently serves as a Member of the National Assembly.
He previously served as an MPL on the Roads and Transport, and Economic Development portfolios for the DA Caucus in Gauteng since 2014. Janho joined the Democratic Party in 1991 and served as Potchefstroom University Branch Chairperson from 1993 to 1995. In 2006 Janho was elected as a Ward Councillor, subsequent to that, he served as a DA PR Councillor from 2011 to 2014 on the City Planning, Infrastructure Development, Rules and Ethics Portfolios. Janho was Campaign Manager for the 2010 Tshwane local government elections which saw the Caucus grow from 47 members to 82. In 2011, Janho was appointed Chief Whip and served in this capacity until 2013. Janho currently lives in Centurion and has two sons, Cilliers and Jandro.
