Ms Manana is from Driekoppies Malelane district in Mpumalanga. She joined the ANC formally in 1994 but had been involved in politics since the age of 12. Ms Manana has served in the ANCYL as an additional member in the executive structure of the Malelane branch. She was elected to serve in Parliament after the 2014 elections.
