338. Mr K J Mileham (DA) to ask the Minister of Rural Development and Land
Reform:
1) (a) How many outstanding land claims arising from the 1998 deadline
remain unsettled in each municipality and (b) in each case, (i) which
properties are affected, (ii) who are the claimants and (iii) what is
the current status of each claim;
(2) of the land claims arising from the 1998 deadline, (a) how many were
found to be invalid, (b) what were the grounds for their invalidity in
each case and (c) of these, how many have been de-gazetted?

THE MINISTER OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND LAND REFORM:
1) (a) 8Â 733
(b)(i) Information on affected properties that have been researched
shall be provided no later than 31 April 2014 as it is contained on
claim files and not on the database for claims. The said
information is not available where research of the claim is not
finalised, and the claim is accepted and gazetted.
(b)(ii),(iii) Please refer to Annexure A.
2) (a) 3 207
(b) The land claims do not comply with section 2 of the Restitution
of Land Rights Act, 1994 (Act No 22 of 1994).
(c) Claims that do not comply with section 2 of the Restitution of
Land Rights Act, 1994 (Act No 22 of 1994) are not gazetted.
