Hon Barnard, I am trying to illustrate a point here that the fact that you hold a particular rank does not necessarily make you militaristic or violent in any form or in any other way.
The point is that in the debate that this society should have on the question of the demilitarisation of the police service, for example, the emphasis should be on the question of the approach to policing as opposed to the question of ranks.
