Hon Chairperson, Comrade President, thank you for your response and for providing context to the raging trade wars between China and the US, and thank you for noting the ongoing negotiations that cause very complex trade issues. In the light of the fact that China is our strategic partner in Brics, what role does South Africa and by extension, the African Union, envisaged to play or is currently playing to mitigate the possible negative effects of the trade war? I am raising this within the context of African economies
being vulnerable to this trade factors. Is there space for meaningful industrialisation, particularly the manufacturing sector that has the potential to create employment for many people? Thank you.
