SUMMARY
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss a petition received on 2 August
2007 from the residents of Block 2 and Block 4 Extension in New Eersterus,
Hammanskraal. The Department of Defence was invited to give a briefing to
elucidate the matters in the petition. However, the officials from the
Department failed to appear despite the Chairperson’s countless attempts to
reach them via cellular phone. The meeting was thus cancelled. The Committee
would decide the following week on a date for the rescheduled meeting.
