The core issue revolves around the eligibility of a South African citizen by birth, his spouse, and their children for South African identity documents. Despite their citizenship status, their attempts to obtain proper documentation have been fraught with difficulties, particularly due to discrepancies between South African and Lesotho documentation.

This matter has been ongoing for several years, and the family has encountered severe hardships as a result. Their struggles have resulted in limited access to education and employment opportunities. Despite their efforts and engagement with the Department of Home Affairs in Brits, they have not been able to find a satisfactory resolution. I have also attempted to assist them through your Director-General (Tommy), but unfortunately, without success.

It is evident that the current situation violates their fundamental human rights, and it is imperative that we initiate urgent action to address it. The family's quality of life is at stake, and any further delay could exacerbate their suffering.

I understand that you may not be directly involved in operational matters at the Department of Home Affairs, but I am reaching out to you because all the efforts to resolve this matter have proven abortive.

I kindly request your assistance in directing this matter to the appropriate authorities within the Department of Home Affairs for immediate attention. I have all relevant documents in my possession to support their case. With your permission, I will forward the facts and evidence for your consideration.
