Dear Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises, I would like to ask why is it that when Eskom is appearing before yourselves you do not ask them questions on what they always alledge??
The CEO is always coming to the committee during load shedding to tell us the same thing time and time again but he hardly offers any solutions and to be honest I am never happy with your line of questioning.

On the theft of Eskom Coal

1.The trucks that are transporting Eskom Coal, used to have 2 tracking devices each for the Eskom Contracted trucks, do they still have these in place or not??

2. What happened to the monitors that were on the road in the previous years to guard this trucks from deviating from the set routes, because this theft occurs mainly because they are unguarded?

3. Do these trucks have drive Cams to be able to view the route and cargo in transit??

4. Why are they not locking the truck P.T.O after loading to make sure the truck does not offload anywhere else either than at the Power Station where it is suppose to offload?

5. The sealing of trucks, is that still in place?? If seals are broken what do they do with those trucks and the coal on the truck??

The above mentioned were put in place to safe guard the cargo and the drivers and if these measures are still in place and monitored Eskom should not coming to the Committee to complain about coal that is stolen or swapped around.

If these are not in place, why were they removed because these were working,

I hope that you will ask them these questions and they will provide us with answers and not excuses as they have been doing.

Kind regards
