Dear Portfolio Committee on Social Development, We are unemployed social workers,we have submitted several memorandums to the department with the hope that they will hear our grievances. But seems we are being told the same answer that there is no money, and they are talking to other departments. We are concerned that the social ills are escalating each and every day yet there is no social worker that has been deployed. The department has failed us several times it was stated that we will have monthly meetings to discuss developments for our employment but till to date no meeting was set.

We plea to the committee to kindly again look into the matter because its seems the department make promises and fail to keep them. When the portfolio committee had visual meeting with the unemployed social workers and the department, the department stated they are looking into the matter, but their statement is being said several times but not being implemented. We plea to the committee that they enforce the department to employ us or implement their strategy before our communities faces more than what they are experiencing.
