Youth Unemployment Could Boost SANDF Manpower Strength

Dear Joint Standing Committee on Defence,

I would like to suggest that the Committee on Defence consider introducing Mandatory Military Service for school leavers and unemployed youth. I strongly believe that this will help alleviate unemployment amongst our youth, in particular our school leavers. This will mean they will serve a minimum of 2 years in the Military and during this service they will be groomed and disciplined into respectable adulthood, whilst at the same time it will reduce the unemployment rate and prepare our youth for the future, and at the same time it will strengthen the SANDF's manpower significantly, It will also keep our youth off the streets and away from crime, drugs, etc. Your consideration will be much appreciated. Obviously the Minister of Finance will have to include this into the SANDF budget annually but it will be good for our country and our future leaders. Thank you kindly.
