Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour,
Today i write with a heavy heart as i have been on maternity leave from the 1st of July 2023 and will be returning to work on the 1st of November 2023 without having received any funds from the UIF. I started my ufilling in July and submitted all relevant documents on in August 2023. From the 9th of August till to date my status of my claim has been stuck on sent to assessor. I have called the call center on numerous occasions and I was told to wait 7 to 10 days. After 7 to 10 days I call again and time has just been going and I keep geting told it's been escalated. I further email the Randburg branch but don't respond to my emails as to what could be the delay with my claim. When I go to the branch physically, I have to wait 6hours to be attended to while my newborn is at home, with still no progress on my claim as I still have not received any payment.

This is my 3rd maternity claim but I'm very deeply saddened at the delay that I have to face this time around and I have tried all possible ways to get assistance with my claim with no progress of seeing the light.

Please may I ask for intervention on why my claim is delayed and when I will receive my payment.

Your assistance in this regard is highly appreciated.
