Dear Select Committee on Land Reform, Environment, Mineral Resources and Energy,

Dear Sir

My concern is for my mother. My father worked on the mines his whole life, started as a learner miner, worked as a timber man, stoper, developer, nightshift cleaner ect... from the 1950's up to 1999 (according to his record of service) He died struggling to breathe, medical records is not available since Harmony took over Anglo American mines. According to Tshiamiso Trust he didn't work in a dusty environment? She has only 13 days to give medical records or her claim is dismissed. How is this human and could they say that he didn't work where there is dust?
The few medical papers we have state that he had a chronic airway sickness. After so many years working underground and in the mining field, how could he not be compensable? Who is fighting for the widows of our mining industry? I can offer all our documentation.
