Dear relevant person(s) of the Portfolio Committee on Public Works and Infrastructure,

My subsequent questions refer to the abandoned and vandalised property situated on 18 Mark street, Stellenbosch Central. I live in Central Stellenbosch, in close proximity to the property in question.

The property falls under the Property Management Trading Entity of the DPWI's Cape Town region.

With reference to the reply to question 972 on 22 May 2017 sent to the DPWI by Mr B Topham:

(1)
(a) What is the breakdown of the total costs of the property to the Minister of Public Work's Department from 2017 until the present?
(b) Has the property rendered any income since 2017?

(2)
(a) Has the condition assessment of the property been conducted?
(b) If yes, to (2a) what was the outcome of the assessment?
(c) If yes to (2a) please email a copy of the conditions assessment to the email address from which this enquiry was sent
(d) If yes to (2a) what is the estimated cost to restore the property?

(3)
(a) Has the DPWI, considered Stellenbosch Municipality's offer to take over ownership of the property?
(b) If yes to (3a) what was the outcome of the decision?

(4) What are the names of the subcontracting companies that have:
(a) provided security services to the property
(b) provided rubble-clearing services to the property
(c) installed burglar bars at the property
(d) provided garden maintenance services to the property

(5) Relating to the minister's answer to Mr AP Van der Westhuizen's question 71 sent to the DPWI and published on the PMG on 24 February 2017:
(a) Has the completion of the DPWI's Immoveable Assets Registrar enabled the PMTE to more effectively manage proceedings related to the property on 18 Mark street - as was promised by the minister in response to Mr Van der Westhuizen's query

(a) Has the DPWI worked together with Stellenbosch SAPS to remove the illegal occupants in the property?
(b) If yes to (6a) have the illegal occupants now been removed and is the property now uninhabited?

(7)
(a) Is the property on 18 Mark street a heritage building?
