Ms Tandeka Gqada completed a Management Development Programme through the University of South Africa. Thereafter she completed a Human Resources Management Programme and an MBA at the same institution. She was subsequently employed at UniSA for more than nine years, after which she was employed at Old Mutual and the Nedbank group.
Ms Gqada entered politics in 2011 when she became the Public Relations Councillor for the City of Cape Town (CoCT). She then became an Executive Mayoral Committee Member for the CoCT, where she served in various portfolios including Community Services & Human Settlement.
