Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour, my name is Ayanda maliwa and i am very worried about the way people get employment. you go to the firms here in Ekurhuleni in alrode to be exact people here get jobs simply because they know someone inside. It does not matter whether you have a qualification here if you have no one working in the firm you must forget about getting a job.A lot of young people end up on the wrong side of the law due to this kind situation. also this thing of agents must come to an end you go to a firm looking for employment they tell you to go to the agent and it's money that you must spend to go to these agents, where will you get the money because you are not working to go to these agents.
My request to the committee please make sure that in these firms at least there's a certain amount of percentage in terms of employing the foreign nationals and those who do not have matric. It's time we now to adopt the system that is used in football whereby the is only allowed to have a certain number of foreign nationals I am saying this merely because you find that one has got grade 12 and perhaps dropped out at tertiary level but still can't be offered jobs in these firms while those who do don't even have that grade 12 they working, THEN YOU ASK YOURSELF WHY DO WE GO TO SCHOOL IN THE FIRST PLACE? I am joining politics now because i see there's a lot to be done to make this country a better one for all of us.
