Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour,

I live in the Emalahleni, Mpumalanga. I have been unemployed since June 2019. I've been going to the local department of labour for the past 3-4 months "trying" to collect my UIF. I've been to the offices 6 times. Each time nothing has happened. The procedure is to stand in a cue outside for around 2 hours if you early and then get a ticket to wait in a cue inside for the rest of the day. Eventually when you get to a counter. You are greeted by an unfriendly face who looks at you like you are scum. There after they proceed to tell you your request has been declined and you need to come back in 10 or 14 days. This all is the plan if the system is not offline.

The first I have been there there were different forms given to me to be filled and handed in. Which I have done. On the second I was told that my request was declined, and I need to come back after 10 "working days".The third time the lady at the counter said I haven't submitted the salary schedule, which the person who submitted the forms the first and second time "forgot" to mention, after checking the forms meticulously. Actually the first time I visited the department was when I had to collect the forms to fill in, and I was not given the form. I think I was supposed to know what forms I have to submit. Well anyway I've been there a few times after that encountering the same sort of thing. People who think that we just an inconvenience to them. Once the system wa offline and I never have seen Government employed people smile and laugh and make merry in that way before. I felt like n ex girlfriend or boyfriend seeing the ex partner being happy with someone else.

In conclusion it is December and my six months are up to apply for UIF, that by now I dont think why I bother. Sometimes I wish I was born in another country but the good people around me stop that. In the essence of it I wish that I could get back those 6 months of my life lost. And also I WANT THOSE MONTHS OF THE UIF THAT IS OWED TO ME. I am utterly appualed by this. I'm sick of dealing with incompetent people who dont know wht it's like to be on the other side of that counter. Here's top employment 5% of the people who are on the other side of that counter they will be more literate and competent that 100% of those working in the department of labour put together.

I know you guys are going to nothing about this. Because your jobs are secure and you don't care about serving the people,which is should actually be the motto of this government, who actually voted for this change. At this moment in time only prayer will help this country.

And again nothing will be done about this because let's be fair the government is so useless but this was all worth a shot. I will not be offended if you prove me wrong. I dont even know if this is the right people I'm talking to but useless all the same.

Please feel free to contact me if you want me to be president of this country and make this place a whole lot better because we love this country not the government. The government has better jokes than Trevor Noah.
