Dear Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs,

My name is Silindokuhle from Mtubatuba. I'm a not satisfied with the way the municipality is treating us, the community.

Ever since my family relocated to the township of kwaMsane in 1991, we have continuously been experiencing the problem of drought. Our streets are gravel. Our street lights are not working. It gets worse year after year. We currently have been without water for the whole month.

The municipality promises to solve the problems facing our township in every community meetings we hold but never keep to their promise yet we are being summoned to courts for not paying rates.

Today they held the IDP meeting to discuss the problem of water as the community has been without water for the whole month where uMkhanyakude deputy Mayor swore that, KwaMsane township is still going to be without water because they do not pay rates.

I am writing to edge you to intervene and find solutions that our community has long been facing. Problems of being denied access to our basic human needs.

I am looking forward to receiving your positive response.
