The UDM is concerned about the growing number of incidents of police brutality in the country. Recently, the Daily Dispatch reported that two people were rushed to hospital and 21 others, including schoolchildren in uniform, were treated for minor injuries after service delivery violence in Sterkspruit in the Eastern Cape.
It appears government continues to use brute force to suppress legitimate service delivery protests around the country, rather than dispatching senior government officials to attend to their concerns. The UDM calls on government to root out police brutality and disperse skilled police officers to deal with these problems. Thank you.
