The Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act Amendment Bill [B18-2014] ("the Bill") was referred to the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services ("the Committee") on 5 December 2014 (ATC 103-2014). The Bill seeks to amend the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, (2007) ("the Act"), and aims to give effect to two separate judgments of the Constitutional Court in the case of The Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children and Others v the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development and Others [2013] ZACC 35 CCT 12/13 (the ''Teddy Bear case''), and the case of J v the National Director of Public Prosecutions and Others [2014] ZACC 13 CCT 114/13 (the ''J case'').
