The support for the indigents and so on, is supposed to continue. It is in our nature our value system as well. In fact, in most of our communities, even without the social grants system, communities themselves support each other. It is in our nature to do that. Therefore, we have to continue to support each other. There are conceptual differences here but that does not really matter, the issue is that we should continue to support those who need support.
In fact, I am surprised that the hon Carrim has not asked me what my view is about the basic income grant. [Laughter.] I thought he was going to ask me about that. I am going to leave this House so disappointed and will reconsider very strongly whether I should return the next time. He should ask me that question, so that I can have the opportunity to answer it, conceptually, intellectually and in detail. [Interjections.] [Laughter.]
