(1) Given the rise in the number of accidents caused by potholes, with tragic consequences for many of our fellow citizens, what (a) urgent steps have been taken to address and mitigate the problem of potholes, (b) measures are currently in place to (i) repair and (ii) prevent the formation of potholes, (c) new initiatives and/or plans are being developed to enhance the efforts and (d) processes are followed to allocate resources for road maintenance and repair;
(2) whether there is a specific budget dedicated to addressing issues related to potholes; if not, what is this position in this regard; if so, what are the relevant details;
(3) (a) how are resources allocated for road maintenance and repair and (b) what (i) steps are being taken to ensure that road safety is prioritised, the (ii) route should citizens follow to report hazardous conditions to expedite repairs and (iii) long-term strategy has been put in place to improve road infrastructure and reduce the occurrence of potholes in the future;
(4) whether her department has a specific budget that is dedicated to addressing issues related to potholes; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
