2175. Mr M H Redelinghuys (DA) to ask the Minister of Rural Development and
Land Reform:
(a) How many times has his department received a request from the SA Human
Rights Commission (SAHRC), in line with section 184(3) of the Constitution
of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, to provide a report on measures
taken by his department towards the realisation of the rights in the Bill
of Rights concerning housing, health care, food, water, social security,
education and the environment in the (i) 2011-12, (ii) 2012-13 and (iii)
2013-14 financial years, (b) how many times did his department submit such
a report to the SAHRC and (c) was each specified report (i) made readily
available to the public or (ii) tabled in Parliament? NW2718E
THE MINISTER OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND LAND REFORM:
(a) (i),(ii),(iii) The Department is unable to locate any record of
requests from the SA Human Rights Commission to provide reports
in terms of section 184(3) of the Constitution of the Republic
of South Africa, 1996.
