1. It should be noted that the 2017 land audit does not state that 9% of private land in the Republic is in black ownership.

The Deeds Registration System does not keep record of land use, nor does it keep record of “White Ownership”, therefore the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development is not in a position to provide information regarding to the amount of agricultural land that has been transferred from white ownership in (hectares and (b) percentage since 1 January 1994.
3. The total amount of land located in the former homeland of the Republic is of 95,634,991.0046 hectares. A total of 290,473.8224 hectares of land in former homelands, which comprises 0.30% of the said land as registered in the names of Trusts. 654.6932 hectares, which comprises 0.0007% of the said land is registered in the names of Communal Property Associations.
