(1) Following the confirmation by the National Commissioner of Correctional Services around October 2024 that there were officials of his department who were found to be involved in contraband smuggling, particularly at the Polokwane Remand Detainee Centre, what total number of officials of his department who were found to be involved in contraband smuggling were nabbed; (2) whether the specified officials were charged (a) through the internal consequence management processes of his department and (b) criminally; if not, why not in each case; if so, in each case, what (i) number was charged, (ii) is the nature of the charges, (iii) is the employment status of each official that was charged in each case and (iv) progress has been made in each case?
