About Ian Michael Ollis

Mr Ollis was born in East London in 1970. He completed his tertiary education through the Baptist Theological College, University of Zululand and attained a Master of Arts degree from WITS University. Prior to joining South African politics, Mr Ollis worked in the higher education sector. He joined the Democratic Party (DP) in 1999 and was elected to the City Council in 2005. In 2006 he was re-elected as a ward councilor and has worked for the DA’s fundraising department and executed duties on the Gauteng South Regional Executive. He was first elected to Parliament in 2009 and is currently serving as the DA’ Shadow Minister of Transport. Source: DA (www.da.org.za).
